Workflow paths provide the logical sequence the workflow stages will follow.
Conditions can be placed on paths, so the workflow only follows that path if a certain condition or set of conditions is met. Conditions can be field values, calculations or other functions.
Also, paths can have notification behaviors assigned to them so that a notification is sent when the path is followed. See Setting Notifications, Reminders, Escalations.
